Of eBay and shopping

Today I felt an ultimately untimely desire (that doesn’t quite encapsulate it to be honest, I need something that shows my eagerness slash desperation more realistically but it’s almost 2 in the morning) to shop my heart out and be able to possess all the items I need so desperately on my fashion wishlist.  I fortunately was able to fulfill a small tiny chunk of my inner shopaholic and chose to take advantage of the free shipping that AE is offering online and bought a camisole, a striped v-neck tee (that looks so, so soft) and some boyshorts (the best to sleep in, honestly).  Upon clicking the purchase button I immediately felt instant gratification that was multiplied several times because all the items I bought were on sale!  Yes!

Somehow all this thriftyness got to my head and I decided to delve into the world of eBay shopping.  Fab Sugar always does these awesome posts once or twice a week (which may or may not be true because I really just invented that figure) where they feature a really neat eBay find, but since I have not had the patience of setting up an eBay account I have never actually been able to bid on anything.

But that, my dear readers, changed today.  I decided to devote a good portion of my time (like, an hour) to attempting to set up an eBay account (and the Paypal account too!) so I could get my greedy little hands on some wonderful vintage finds.  Of course, my friend Alex had to guide me for most of it (it took me at least 15 minutes to understand the whole, “maximum bid” thing and I’m not going to lie, the fact that the site auto-bids for you kind of freaks me out.  I MEAN THINK ABOUT IT – A ROBOT COMPUTER HYBRID BEING IS BASICALLY DOING STUFF FOR YOU!!) but now I am a proud eBayer and I’m not going to lie, it is mildly addicting to watch things you bid on and whatnot.  In any case I have my eye on two clothing items right now and I’m going to wait it out and see if I win them, fingers crossed.

On another note, I really need to get on re-organizing my room.  Now that school’s over (well, I still have finals for the next two weeks) I don’t have much of an excuse.  I need to get a new bed frame, magazine organizers, and some kind of filing cabinet contraption that I can stick under my desk so I won’t have crap all over the place.  Sounds like it’s time for a trip to Ikea!  I love that place.
